Dry Needling
Dry needling is a highly effective form of trigger point therapy . With dry needling, myofascial trigger points and fascia can be treated. For this, a specially trained physiotherapist or doctor will prick the trigger point with a sterile acupuncture needle. The pricking action reactivates the oxygen supply to the contracted muscle fiber and fascia, reduces the inflammatory response, improves vascularization and thus permanently relaxes the tension. The pricking of the trigger point causes a short, localized muscle twitch in the muscle cord, which is however experienced by patients as a "feeling good" and "relaxing" pain.
